A historic chapel in the heart of Amsterdam is home to a unique interactive experience: Highlights of Holland. A surprising and interactive experience where visitors can take in everything that makes the Netherlands so unique all at once—from masterpieces by Dutch masters to Orange fever, from polder landscapes to traditional costumes—all under one roof. 

Behind this initiative are four Amsterdam entrepreneurs: Jeannette den Boer, Mark Wijlhuizen, Stefan Coppers, and Laura Kleijwegt. Jeannette regularly organized gatherings for people from all over the world and often found she didn’t have enough time in the program to cover all the highlights of the Netherlands. After all, where do you even start? And that’s where this idea was born. In 2024, the four entrepreneurs decided this idea had a good chance of success, and by the end of 2025, the doors opened on Spaarndammerstraat. 

The location is special: the historic Magdalenakapel on Spaarndammerstraat in Amsterdam. “It is precisely here, in a neighborhood with so much history and character, that we want to create something that adds meaning—for tourists, but also for the people of Amsterdam themselves.”
