Learning Through Play
Who says learning about the Netherlands has to be boring? At Highlights of Holland, students discover Dutch culture in a fun and interactive way. During their visit, they travel through 10 different themed rooms, each showcasing a different aspect of the Netherlands.
Ride a bike together to make music, take on a challenge with a windmill, try on traditional Dutch costumes, and let your creativity shine. In some rooms, students get hands-on, while in others they can sit back and enjoy the show.
This turns a school trip to Amsterdam into a fun and educational outing where students have a great time while discovering all sorts of things about the Netherlands.

Dutch culture comes to life
Behind all the fun activities, there’s also a lot to learn. In each room, you’ll find information about Dutch history, traditions, art, and culture, with surprising facts that students can read at their own pace.
Hop aboard a canal boat and discover, through an entertaining presentation, how the Netherlands has lived with water throughout the centuries. In another room, famous Dutch paintings come to life, and students are introduced to the artists and their stories in a unique way.
By combining interactive activities, visuals, and stories, Dutch culture becomes accessible and interesting for both elementary and high school students.
Plan Your School Trip
A visit to Highlights of Holland takes about 65 minutes. Students move through 10 different themed rooms in a set order. The experience can be explored independently, and each room has a program with a set duration. As soon as the program ends, the doors open and the group moves on to the next room.
We can accommodate about 20 students per group. Are you coming with a larger class or multiple classes? In that case, we’ll divide the students into smaller groups, which can start every 10 minutes. This way, the next group doesn’t have to wait until the first group is completely finished.
Highlights of Holland is completely indoors. This makes it a fun school field trip in Amsterdam, no matter the weather.
